Our Dentists
Dr. Zachary Paukert is a native Texan excited to be living in Charlottesville after a life of moving. He graduated dental school from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio with Honors in Teaching.
Coming from a military family, Dr Paukert felt a strong commitment to serve in the Army. Dr. Paukert began his military career with a 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Fort Bragg, NC. Dr. Paukert then moved to Fort Polk, LA where he also served a deployment to Iraq. His most recent assignment was to Fort Jackson, SC where he culminated his Active Army Career as the Director of a 12-month Dental Residency. Dr. Paukert continues to serve his nation as a COL in the Virginia National Guard as the State Dental Officer. Dr. Paukert is excited to find his professional home at Charlottesville Dental Health Partners where he knows he can focus on quality dentistry that address patient needs and desires.
Dr. Paukert believes excellence in dentistry demands lifelong learning. He is a board certified by the American Board of General Dentistry and a Master in the Academy of the General Dentistry. Both of these recognitions are earned by less than 1% of dentists. Furthermore, he believes in continued service to the profession. Dr. Paukert has served on numerous organized dentistry roles including the ADA Council on Communications, the ADA Committee on the New Dentist, and as a editor-in-chief for a national publication. Dr. Paukert is a published author who has given lectures on a myriad of topics including restorative dentistry, dental materials, CEREC digital dentistry training, esthetics, and pediatric dentistry.

Personal Life
Dr. Paukert is married to his high school sweetheart and swimming teammate, Martina. Martina is a native from Virginia and a Social Worker continuing to serve Military Service Members. Together they have three children. Martina, a minster’s daughter, and Zach a former deacon in the church, place their faith as central to their life and family. Zach cherishes time spent with family, whether playing at home, swimming, or exploring the area. He also enjoys cooking, especially smoking meat (with pecan of course) and woodworking. Zach loves living in Charlottesville and serving the community through Charlottesville Dental Health Partners and growing as a family in Albemarle County.
Dr. Peter Fredrickson
Dr. Peter Fredrickson, an alumnus of UVA and originally from Virginia Beach, is returning to his Virginian roots with the recent move to Charlottesville. Following his undergraduate degree, he attended NYU College of Dentistry and graduated with Honors in Esthetic Dentistry.
After a childhood filled with his own dental emergencies, Dr. Fredrickson became familiar with the dental chair, which ultimately led him to pursue a career in dentistry. Following NYU, Dr. Fredrickson kicked off his career by practicing in Berkeley, California specializing in providing comprehensive restorative, general, and cosmetic dentistry needs to his patients. He moved on to the Dental Studio in San Francisco to hone in on best practices for restorative care and learned how to work with best in class technologies and materials to give his patients premium care. Dr. Fredrickson is pleased to carry on the legacy of Dr. Haines by providing high quality care to patients of Charlottesville Dental Health Partners where he can exercise his passion for providing individualized care and treatment recommendations based on achieving optimum aesthetics and function.
For Dr. Fredrickson, dentistry isn’t just a job, but rather his life passion. He believes that staying up to date and continuing to learn from the most experienced and innovative practitioners is vital to ensure his patients get the best care. His practice philosophy reflects the tenants taught at the world renowned Kois Center for advanced dental education. Trained in macro photography, Dr. Fredrickson uses his photographic expertise to document clinical work for his patients. Dr. Fredrickson has received numerous awards for clinical excellence including receiving 1st Place in his category when presenting at the Annual AACD Scientific Conference. He is committed to being a contributing member of the dental field and expanding his knowledge with the following organizations:

Personal Life
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Fredrickson is an avid outdoorsman and can be found hiking, biking, and snowboarding. During his time at NYU, Dr. Fredrickson met his now wife, Melissa, while watching a UVA basketball game with mutual friends. They bonded over their love for the Hoos and adventure. He and Melissa love to explore uncharted territory, cook, see live music, road trip, and spend time with friends and family. Melissa is originally from Northern Virginia and is a fellow UVA alumni. Her career has been in many different areas of the STEM Education field, and she currently works remotely for an Educational Technology company designing learning products. Dr. Fredrickson and Melissa are looking forward to starting a family, enjoying the wonderful quality of life in Charlottesville, and giving back to the community.
